I will send you a quote, and you can choose to buy the part yourself and bring it in (no warranty) or I will buy it from my preferred vendor and warranty my work for 90 days.
A few years ago I realized that most failing devices can be replaced more reliably with new equipment than repaired. That’s business sense as much as it is consumer sense. The huge businesses designing these products cut many corners to keep devices inexpensive, but the quality is greatly reduced. I also don’t enjoy living in a “throw away society,” but how many customers have paid me the cost of a new device to fix their old one? That was back when my prices were 30% less than they are now! That fact is that most customers just want a working device and feel little or no sentiment to their old devices.
No. I’ve fixed competitor technicians’ mistakes many times. There is a reason I charge what I do, and it is because I am very good at what I do, I am honest about what things cost, and I honor the price I quote. Please use my competitors; they have their own niches.
